CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS PC2

Places: Breathtaking landscapes, beautiful architecture, and sites of inspiration make up this category! Submit your best photos focusing on any foreign place that made an impact on you during your time abroad. The best entries will be those which avoid clichéd landmarks and instead show a new side of the world. We want to see your own unique discoveries off the beaten path!

People: Whether at work or play, people around the world are a fascinating part of studying abroad in a foreign setting. We want you to play the role of anthropologist with this category and submit your best shots of people being, well, people! We are interested in both photos of locals and those of Auburn students experiencing the host country lifestyle.

Slice of Life: Studying abroad offers the opportunity to see and experience new, unfamiliar, and fascinating cultures wholly different from our own. This category is all about those singular moments and events you encounter that illuminate the local flavor and lifestyle of the culture. Whether its people, animals, plants, sports, celebrations, modes of transport, or food, we want to see what makes this place in the world unique.

Instagram: Instagram’s slogan is “Capture and Share the World’s Moments” and we want to see just that! From walking around the city to experiencing something new, spending time with fellow Auburn students or immersing yourself in the culture, show us your best Instagram photos! This is the only category to which Instagram photos should be submitted.

Auburn Abroad: The Auburn Family is a vital part of being a student. Show us that you represented Auburn while on your program by submitting a picture of you with an Auburn flag, shirt, or other apparel.  WAR EAGLE!

PC4Photo Collage: For this, we want you to create a collage of 3-5 photos that hold a special meaning to you. These are the ones that defined your study abroad experience. They document the unforgettable sights, sounds, people, and experiences that you will be able to look back on in the future as windows to another time. In order to qualify for this category, your collage must contain no less than three images and no more than five and must be viewable as one single file. For an easy to use, free, and online tool, we recommend using Fotor or PicStitch to create and customize your collage. Collages are a form of art, so be as creative and imaginative as possible! To be considered for this category, your submission must also be accompanied with a reflection of 200-300 words that describes why these photos represent your experience.
