ACCOMMODATIONS
Group Outdoors

Auburn students will live with a Spanish family. Housing accommodations are a key element to the success of any study or work abroad experience. All placements typically have WiFi access and include reasonable use of utilities. Housing assignments are communicated prior to arrival in the form of a housing sheet and are designed to match the needs and expectations of each program participant. The detailed information in our housing sheets describes the housing accommodation, amenities, occupants, location, description of the neighborhood and a distance chart to local points of interest.

LOCATION

Seville, Spain

Seville is the artistic, cultural and financial capital of Southern Spain. The city is renowned for its warm climate and friendly culture, making it an ideal setting for language learning and cultural integration. A stroll through the city's winding cobblestone streets reveals a wide array of bustling sidewalk cafes and tapas bars, spontaneous flamenco performances and an active nightlife. Internationally known for the grandeur of its Easter Week processions (known as Semana Santa) and April Fair, Seville offers a variety of rich cultural experiences set against historical Roman, Muslim, and Jewish influence.

You will have the opportunity to explore streets built by Rome for its victorious legions. The city of Itálica just a few miles outside Seville is the birthplace of the two first emperors (Trajan and Adrian). You may also visit the minarets and port-defense towers dating back to Seville's Moorish 12th and 13th centuries. The multiple churches in the city show signs of the Middle Ages and the importance of the Catholic faith. Seville, where Christopher Columbus is buried, was the port of the world during the XVI century and is the home of the Indian Archives. If you wish to learn more about modern and contemporary history, the city is full of old pavilions from the Iberoamerican Exposition of 1929 and the Universal Exposition of 1992.
