LOCATION
Nicaragua

Nicaragua is a land full of surprises. There you’ll find the oldest cathedral in Central America, active volcanos, freshwater sharks, and a huge variety of flora and fauna. Because of this, it is an increasingly attractive tourist destination, though it definitely maintains its own unique cultural identity. It’s capital, Managua, is the third-largest city in Central America, and acts not only as the governmental hub of the country but also showcases the country’s history and arts. There you’ll find a diversity of restaurants and clubs, theatres, and museums. As Nicaragua’s economy continues to grow and become a vital member of the international arena, Peace Corps volunteers work in four sectors: Community Economic Development, Education, Environment, and Health.

EXCURSIONS

  • Peace Corps Headquarters visit
  • US Embassy visit
  • Leon City visit
