Summer 2021 Study Abroad programs:
 
1. The latest deadline for Summer Auburn Abroad applications is March 30, 2021.
 
2. AU Administration has established COVID19 Summer criteria for running Auburn Abroad programs. Deans were contacted last month and any program wishing to run during summer 2021 had to go through a rigorous review based on this criteria.   A quick overview of criteria includes a minimum of 4 week program duration, one destination only, use of quarantine flights where available, use of private on-site transportation as well as specific criteria for student participation including vaccinations, negative COVID19 tests, trip cancellation insurance, etc.  Criteria for students to participate in AU Auburn Abroad, Non-AU and Exchange programs can be found at www.auburn.edu/studyabroad.
 
3. The only approved Auburn Abroad faculty-led summer program is the Human Sciences JSB Ariccia Program in Italy, May 19- July 31, 2020.   
The student applications for this program have been processed so you should not be asked to sign any course approval forms at this time.  Other Auburn Abroad programs have moved to future semesters.  
 
4. AU Administration has also established Non-AU Summer Program Abroad participation COVID19 criteria.  Students interested in going on this type of program have contacted our office.  We are working with them to complete these criteria.   You may be approached by students to sign a Transfer Credit Form, it is OK to  sign these forms if the student adheres to your academic requirements for these courses.    Non-AU providers are sending other forms, including student participation forms, to our office and we will sign these forms and move students forward in their application once students complete required AU COVID19 Summer criteria.
 
Fall 2021 Study Abroad Programs:
 
1. The latest deadline for Fall Auburn Abroad applications is April 15, 2021.
 
2. The Summer COVID19 criteria will be applied to Fall programs until we are notified by AU Administration of any changes.  Programs wishing to run were instructed to contact our office and go through rigorous review by AU Administration based on this criteria.
 
3.  Liberal Arts Fall Exchange Programs are running pending completion of COVID19 criteria for the program.   Student applicants will also need to complete applicable criteria.   You may be approached by students to sign a Course Approval Form, it is OK to sign these forms if the student adheres to your academic requirements for these courses.   Our office is working directly with Liberal Arts and the host exchange university to address COVID19 criteria and will move the students forward in their application once host exchange university and the students complete required AU COVID19 criteria.  Other AU colleges have indicated that they are not opening their exchanges for Fall, at this time.
 
4. AU Administration has also established Non-AU Summer Program Abroad participation COVID19 criteria will be continued for the Fall 2021.  Students interested in going on this type of program have contacted our office.  We are working with them to complete these criteria.   You may be approached by students to sign a Transfer Credit Form, it is OK to  sign these forms if the student adheres to your academic requirements for these courses.    Non-AU providers are sending other forms, including student participation forms, to our office and we will sign these forms and move students forward in their application once students complete required AU COVID19 criteria.
