Program Description:
College of Agriculture: Peruvian Farming and Food Systems Study Tour

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program will give students knowledge about Peruvian farming and food systems, Peruvian economy, community, and how its rich history has shaped these aspects of Peru. Students will learn about Peru's place in the global marketplace.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Extensive walking and use of stairs. Ability to do extensive walking and climb stairs in high altitudes.

  • All majors may apply
  • Students must hold presentation at seminar for College of Agriculture after program

COURSE

Introduction to Agriculture (AGRI 1000, 1 credit hours)

A total of 1 credit hour is awarded as part of this study abroad program.

EXCURSIONS

All events/excursions on the itinerary are factored into final program grade, please contact the faculty if other arrangements need to be arranged.

  • Interactions with animals: horses, llamas, alpacas, and vicunas
  • Visit to Center for International Potatoes

PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS

If you do not have a PASSPORT: Please check www.travel.state.gov for the nearest local passport office and forms. Application for a United States passport should be made at least 120 days in advance of your departure date. Auburn Abroad recommends that you apply for a passport as soon as you know you are participating in the program. If you already have a passport: Please check the expiration date. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months following your scheduled time abroad.
